National Oceans Month

June 10, 2014 | Leave a comment

Clouds_over_the_Atlantic_OceanThe Santa Barbara coastline has a south-facing aspect that juts east-west into the Pacific, not north-south as does the bulk of California, so all northward migrating whales pass through the Santa Barbara Channel. The sighting opportunities in these waters are not limited to gray whales; humpback whales pass through the channel between May and August, and blue whales — the largest creature that has ever lived — pass through between May and September.

Treat the special man in your life to one or two of our Natura Culina products for men!

“Not too many years ago, I realized how important it was for men to take care of their skin as well as women. This is especially true for me, because my work as a ship’s captain keeps my skin constantly exposed to the harsh ocean environment. After trying a few products on the market, I am very grateful to have found Lenka’s products for men.

Buff Your Way To Smooth

Buff Your Way To Smooth, Glowing Skin.

scrubAs seasons change so does our skin.  And as we get older cell rejuvenation slows down and dead skin cells can lead to dull and scaly skin. Exfoliating both the face and body weekly helps get rid of the dead top layers of skin, which allows body butters and serums to better penetrate the skin.

What is exfoliating?
“Exfoliation is the removal of dead skin cells that collect on the outer surface of the skin. Dead skin cells are buffed off with an abrasive substance – we suggest a sugar based scrub that uses sugar, coconut oil and a scent of your choice.

In case you weren’t already aware, the benefits of exfoliating your skin are many! There are so many excellent reasons to exfoliate your skin, from getting softer skin to getting the closest shave possible. Help your body get rid of dead skin cells and reveal softer, smoother skin so you can show off your best skin possible! If you’re still not convinced on the benefits of exfoliating your skin, keep on reading for six great reasons!

Natura Culina Shea Butter

We have been talking a lot about Shea Butter, it’s healing powers and nutritional components related to skin benefits so I’d like to shine some light on why I’ve created Natura Culina Shea Butter and why in the jar and not in the bottle. Body oils are a very European skincare tradition and that’s why the idea to use them in Natura Culina products came to me very naturally.

April Product Spotlight

This month’s product in the spotlight is FLAMENCO SHEA BUTTER

Feminine, sophisticated, sensual, full of spices and flowers…that’s how I describe FLAMENCO SCENT. Santa Barbara’s Old Spanish Days Fiesta was the inspiration behind this scent creation. The Fiesta is a time when Spanish history and traditions fills our city with colors and spices at the beginning of every August. One of my favorite attractions are the beautiful dancers in colorful dresses performing at the Santa Barbara Mission. I hope you enjoy this new scent in one of your favorite Natura Culina Shea Butters, Sugar Scrubs, Goat Milk Soaps or Shea Butter Soaps.
