HORMONAL BREAKOUTS

Breaking the Cycle

Hormonal breakouts are a frustrating reality for many and supporting your skin with clean and nourishing skincare products is a must. Hormonal breakouts are not about quick fixes but about nurturing your skin in balance with your body's natural rhythms.

Hormonal fluctuations are beyond our control that is important to understand. Hormonal changes, especially during menstruation, pregnancy, or perimenopause, can increase sebum production, leading to clogged pores and inflammation. Unlike typical breakouts, hormonal acne often appears around jawline, chin, and lower cheeks and tend to be deeper, more painful, and persistent.

It is easy to feel defeated but understanding the root cause is empowering. Hormonal acne is not just about external skincare but also about internal balance - managing stress, eating habits, hydration and movement.

The Natura Culina Approach

Our Periodic Skincare Set addresses hormonal breakouts with a holistic, non-toxic and synthetic-free formula that prioritizes skin health over harsh treatments and each product works to support your skin.

Myth vs Truth

Myth: Hormonal acne is just like any other acne and can be treated with standard products.

Truth: Hormonal breakouts are often rooted in underlaying systemic imbalances, such as hormonal changes that require lifestyle adjustments alongside gentle skincare. Over-the-counter spot treatments can dry out the skin, worsening the inflammation.

Myth: You just need to wash your face more often to prevent hormonal breakouts.

Truth: Over-cleansing is one of the most common situations I come across when working with my clients and customers. Some of you out there are washing your face more then 2x a day and that is a big NO-NO! Over-cleansing can strip your skin of its own natural protective barrier oils making your skin drier, leading to more oil production as your skin tries to compensate, resulting in clogging pores and breakouts.

Myth: Hormonal acne will go away on its own with time.

Truth: While your hormone levels may stabilize over time, breakouts can persist if not addressed holistically. Incorporating skincare that calms and balances alongside healthy habits is key to ling-term relief.

Holistic Support Beyond Skincare

Your skin is a reflection of your lifestyle choices and habits.

Hydration: Staying hydrated supports your skin's ability to detoxify. Drinking plenty of water, herbal teas, supplementing with electrolytes drinks (pay attention to the labels and choose brands without sugar and without added sugar) you can try my favorite electrolyte brand that is clean with Zero-Sugar Link Here** Implementing fruits and veggies that are rich in water into your daily diet is also beneficial to keep your hydration levels up.

Balanced Nutrition: Incorporate hormone-balancing foods like leafy greens, healthy fats, and fiber while reducing inflammatory triggers such as processed foods, sugar and refined carbs.

Stress Management: Cortisol, the stress hormone, is affecting every aspect of our health, including the health of our skin-breakouts. Practices like meditation, deep breathing, yoga, walks in nature and being outdoors are proven to lower and manage stress levels.
